Chairman & CEO

In 2000 Acer began the transformation to marketing and service of IT products. Since then we have strengthened our corporate competitiveness by adopting a unique Channel Business Model, which allows firm control of brand name, marketing, technology and products, global logistics, and service capacity. The model also permits better understanding of consumer demand and profit sharing among partners. As a result, Acer ranks the world’s fourth largest PC brand in 2005, and is working aggressively to secure third place by 2007.

As the scope of business activities expands, Acer realizes its greater responsibility to society as an international corporation. Therefore, in addition to striving for business growth, we are devoted to achieving corporate sustainable development. Acer and its partner suppliers jointly pursue advanced technology and balanced operation to meet growing demand without sacrificing future generations and their needs.

Acer is aware that economic growth is the key to sustainable management and therefore bases its principles of social responsibility on stable profits and continual growth. Acer actively pursues economic growth, environmental protection and social improvement – the three pillars supporting Acer’s philosophy of social responsibility.

Acer maintains the spirit of Innovative Caring. The company is dedicated to enhancing corporate performance, ensuring benefits for employees and shareholders, and providing consumers with state-of-the-art technology. Moreover, it pays attention to important issues such as the environment, human rights, supplier management, community communications, and philanthropy. 2005 was Acer’s year of environmental management, an also the inaugural year of sustainability to facilitate a comprehensive support mechanism that will help reach the goal of sustainable management.
