Industrial Sustainable Development Information Network

The Ministry of Economics engaged in this project to provide the nation's industries with easy access to the latest information on international sustainable development activities and trends. Its main objective is to instill a greater understanding of these concepts, which will work towards further actualizing the promotion of the nation's industrial sustainable development. This website content includes design for environment, environmental management system, green supply chain, environmental cost accounting, and environmental and economic total cost analysis techniques. It also provides industries with the latest information about domestic and overseas sustainable development, such as European Union statutes and regulations, international environmental treaty directives, and each country's current development status and training programs. In addition, this website provides free consulting services for all industries.

Corporate Social Responsibility in Taiwan

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Taiwan was established by the Ministry of Economics to provide international CSR news, corporate case studies, and the latest news and events real time. This website also provides information about domestic and overseas CSR case studies, projects, and related international programs and guidelines.

Taiwan Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD)

The main areas of work carried out by the Taiwan Business Council for Sustainable Development include: business sustainable development policy studies and introduction of related management tools; development and application of eco-efficiency advocacy and eco-efficiency indicators; operational management and technology innovations, business opportunities and increasing competitiveness, and work with industries to compile and promote sustainable development projects; pursue and participate in flexible mechanisms for greenhouse gas emission reductions; keeping abreast of international developments involving sustainable development and the banking industry; and keeping abreast of international developments in corporate responsibility issues.

World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)

In January 1995, BCSD and WICE merged to form the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) with its headquarters established in Geneva, Switzerland. This organization brings together some 120 international corporations and 21 regional and national BCSDs in a shared commitment to sustainable development through economic growth, ecological balance and social progress. WBCSD members are drawn from 36 countries and more than 20 major industrial sectors, and benefits from a global network of over 50 national and regional business councils and partner organizations. This network forms an effective mechanism for the promotion of industrial sustainable development throughout the globe. WBCSD plays an integral role as a liaison helping to form closer cooperative relationships among business, government, and other organizations, and also encourages businesses to take the initiative in implementing high standards for their environmental management practices.

Electronic Industry Code of Conduct (EICC)

This organization comprises over 10 major international IT industry corporations, including Hewlett Packard, Dell, and Microsoft among others. These corporations work together to set standards and implement measures that efficiently monitor suppliers, and incorporate a broad range of issues, including social and corporate ethics, and environmental issues.

Greenpeace

Greenpeace is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) whose headquarters is in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It has branch offices in over 40 countries working together on a mission to protect the earth's environment and its living beings and to strive for sustainable development.

Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC)

SVTC is a U.S. environmental protection organization that focuses on the high-tech industry's impact on the environment and human health. The purpose of this organization is to promote environmental sustainability and clean production, improve community health, and advance environmental and social justice.
